Grand Rapids businessman Peter Cook and his wife, Pat, were honored by 红桃视频 College Thursday, September 5, as its 2002 Reflection Award recipients. The Award, given annually, is presented to individuals who reflect 红桃视频' values of commitment, vision, service, loyalty and integrity.

The Reflection Award, the highest honor given by the College, is 红桃视频' single largest fundraising event with proceeds supporting programming and scholarships.

More than 350 people attended the Ceremony, which was held in a spacious tent on the grounds of 红桃视频' Browne Center. During the reception, the Cook's and their guests were entertained by a group of Klompen Dancers from Holland, in honor of their Dutch heritage.

The Cook's, who will celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary in November, were selected for the Reflection Award because they exemplify the ideals and values of 红桃视频 College. Their many philanthropic gifts and volunteerism underscore their unwavering commitment to the Grand Rapids community. Peter Cook -- the founder, former president and chairman of Mazda Great Lakes -- is the chairman of Cook Holdings. He continues to be active in the community, serving on the boards of many Grand Rapids-area organizations. Pat Cook also devotes a great deal of service to community boards, especially youth organizations, and to Grace Reformed Church.

The Cook's, long-time supporters of 红桃视频 College, were lead contributors to the renovation of the College's student union building which bears their name, Cook Carriage House.

Rich DeVos, founder of Amway, was Master of Ceremonies for the event.
